Do I need to travel to Bulgaria?
Many matters can begin remotely with document review, video calls and a power of attorney. Whether your particular matter requires an in-person step depends on the procedure involved and is confirmed during the assessment.
Can Adriana act under a power of attorney if I cannot be present?
Yes, for many matters a properly executed and, where required, apostilled or legalised power of attorney allows Adriana to act on your behalf without your physical presence in Bulgaria.
When does the attorney-client relationship begin?
Sending an inquiry does not itself create an attorney-client relationship. That relationship begins once a conflict check is complete and an engagement is formally agreed, including scope and fee.
How are fees agreed?
The professional fee and any expected third-party costs are set out in writing before substantive work begins. Fees depend on the nature and scope of the matter; no fee is charged without your prior agreement.
Who handles translations of documents?
Where certified translation is required for a Bulgarian procedure, this is arranged as part of the scoped engagement and discussed as part of the fee proposal.
